(NOTE:: In the event of a discrepancy between the information shown on this website and the information contained in the official Five County Fair book the information in the book will overrule.)
- Contestant must be a bona fide resident of one of the five participating counties, or a resident college student.
- Each contestant must be sponsored by a retail merchant, club organization, or a family member. A minimum of $40.00 entry fee is required.
- **Photo Contest** The entry fee for that is $10.00. Send that entry fee along with your registration form. It is non-refundable. You do not have to enter the photo contest to be in the beauty pageant. An 8x10 photo in a frame, (face shot preferred) is required. Please bring the photo that you want judged the day of the rehearsal. The photograph can be color or black & white. A 12\" trophy will be given to the winner in each age group.
- Please mail entry form and fees to: Alice Forester, 8577 Church Street Keysville VA 23947. Deadline: Wednesday, September 9, 2009 - No exceptions!!
- Make checks payable to Five County Fair. A $35 fee will be charged for returned checks.
- *** PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD***
One lucky girl from each age group will receive "The People\'s Choice Award." A $1.00 donation per vote will be collected for your favorite contestant. Tickets will be sold during intermission. The lucky winner will receive $25.00 and a 12" trophy.
NOTE: An automobile with a driver and contestant will be admitted free via the Lower Gate.
REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY (If you are not present, you will not compete!) and will be held in the Varner Building on Sunday, September 13 at the following times: Little and Petite Miss Contestants: 4 pm. Junior, Teen and Miss Five County Fair Contestants: 6 p.m.
Rules for Miss Five County Fair
- Contestants in the Miss Five County Fair pageant must be single, never married, have no children and be between the ages of 16 and 22 on Sept. 1, 2009.
- The V.A.F. reserves the right to conduct a drug testing at their discretion.
- Contestant will wear long formal evening attire with no gloves, no wrap.
- The winner, "Miss Five County Fair," will receive a 36" trophy, a sash, a tiara and a prize of $100.00. The Five County Fair Association will pay the $150.00 entry fee to the State Pageant and Hotel expenses and two (2) banquet tickets for the State Convention in January 2009. The First Runner-up will receive a 30" trophy, and the second runner-up will receive a 24" trophy. All contestants will be given a 12" trophy.
- There will be a 5:30 p.m. interview prior to pageant at Brookview Lodge, Farmville. The contestant must be prepared to answer questions from her registration form, give a one-minute speech on her platform and answer any other questions that the judges may have for her.
Rules for Teen Miss Five County Fair
- Teen Miss must be 13-15 years old by Sept. 1, 2009.
- Contestant will wear a dressy dress or a pageant gown.
- Conestant will participate in the reception at Brookview Lodge at 5:30 pm.
- The winner, "Teen Miss Five County Fair," will receive a 36" trophy, a sash and a tiara. The first runner-up will receive a 30" trophy and the second runner-up will received a 24" trophy. All contestants will be given a 12" trophy.
Rules for Junior Miss Five County Fair
- Junior Miss must be 10-12 years old by Sept. 1, 2009.
- Contestant will wear a dressy dress or pageant dress.
- The winner, "Junior Miss Five County Fair," will receive a 36\" trophy, a sash and a tiara. The first runner-up will receive a 30" trophy and the second runner-up will receive a 24" trophy. All contestants will be given a 12" trophy.
Rules for Petite Miss Five County Fair
- Petite Miss must be 7-9 years old by Sept. 1, 2009.
- Contestant will wear a dressy dress or pageant dress.
- The winner, "Petite Miss Five County Fair\" will receive a 36" trophy, a sash and tiara. The first runner-up will receive a 30" trophy and the second runner-up will receive a 24" trophy. All contestants will be given a 12" trophy.
Rules for Little Miss Five County Fair
- Little Miss must be 5-6 years old by Sept. 1, 2009.
- Contestant will wear a dressy dress or pageant dress.
- The winner, "Little Miss Five County Fair," will receive a 36" trophy, a sash and tiara. The first runner-up will receive a 30" trophy and the second runner-up will receive a 24" trophy. All contestants will be given a 12" trophy.
* Please Note: Once the contest begins at 7:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m., no one except pageant personnel and contestants are allowed in the dressing rooms!
* Changes from previous years: Tuesday Pageants will start at 7:00 p.m. or 7.30 p.m.. Winners will be announced after the pageant.
