The Charlotte Observer announced it will provide its print publication three days per week starting this fall. The publication announced on its website that it will publish its newspapers on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays starting on Sept.

The Charlotte Observer is taking another bold step forward in its transformation to a digital-forward newsroom that meets the expectations and demands of today's news consumers. Starting Sept. 16, The Observer will publish the newspaper on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Every month, more than 900,000 people read the Observer on paper, but 3.4 million read it digitally. And the digital audience continues to grow as more readers trade at least some actual paper for screens. Not that we aren't proud of our legacy as a news “paper.” It makes us the longest-running medium in our region.

Observer moves to digital Saturdays, with expanded Friday, Sunday print editions. In December, we shared the news with our subscribers that beginning March 7, The Observer will become a digital-only publication on Saturdays.
