Las Vegas firefighters battle 2-alarm blaze on Sahara Avenue

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas firefighters are battling a large building fire early Tuesday morning.

Fire officials report that crews have been called to a reported fire at 804 East Sahara Ave. near Maryland Parkway around 3:45 a.m. with heavy smoke coming from a building there.

After 5 a.m., the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Department says their response was upgraded to a 2 alarm when flames burst through the roof of the building.

The building houses light fixtures and was vacant at the time of the fire, officials said, with no injuries immediately reported.

Crews had Sahara Avenue east of Maryland Parkway closed while the scene was active.
