Nevada loses to No.18 UCLA – now comes the waiting game

The Wolf Pack baseball team lost their last non-conference game of the season, falling 11-3 Tuesday to No.18 at UCLA.

Now comes the wait.

Nevada fell to 21-18 on aggregate with the loss, but the Pack have bigger things in sight. His remaining four regular season games are a potential Mountain West title winning streak against San Jose State.

The Wolf Pack will have nine days between games before finally taking the field against the Spartans May 28-30 at Peccole Park. The teams will play singles matches on Friday and Sunday, with a double header on Saturday.

Nevada currently leads the MW standings at 18-9, but will be forced to look at the scoreboard this weekend. Three other teams – Air Force, San Diego State and UNLV – also set conference records. Depending on this weekend’s results, the Pack could enter the SJSU Series requiring just a split or better to win the 2021 Mountain West Championship.

Joshua Zamora and Dillan Shrum traveled to Nevada on Tuesday.

Wolf Pack head coach TJ Bruce was a UCLA assistant from 2011-2015. Former Reno High star John Savage is the Bruins’ head coach.
